Check list for final submission

1.  Is your manuscript up to date?  Have you included references, which were published when your manuscript was processed. It is expected that 5% to 30%  of references are to journal papers published in recent 18 to 24 months and 3% to 10% to recent TIE papers. In order to find the recent TIE papers please visit http://tie.ieee-ies.org/tie/abs/index.htm).

2.   Is your title adequate and is your abstract correctly written?  In the age of electronic publications it is not easy to be noticed (Industrial Electronics Society alone receives over 5,000 conference and journal papers per year).  Authors have to do everything possible so the paper will be noticed and read.  Therefore, very careful wording should be used in the title and in the abstract.  Without a proper title and abstract a great paper might never be downloaded from IEEE Xplore and read.

3.    Does the manuscript clearly describe your accomplishments? Can your manuscript be shortened? Are there sentences or paragraphs that do not provide essential information and can be eliminated?

4.  Is the length of your manuscript adequate?  Please notice that for long papers, you may face mandatory overlength charges of $160 per page.  Is the length of your manuscript adequate?  Please notice that there are mandatory overlength charges of $160 per page. These are the limits:

  • 4-8 printed pages for regular pages (including authors bio and photos)

  • 1-3 printed pages for correspondence (authors bio and photos should not be included)

Once you add footnotes, acknowledgement, author photos and bios, please tailor your paper so your paper does not exceed the page limit and the last page is not half empty. If your paper after editing at IEEE HQ will run to a new page the editor may remove your photos and/or bios.
